In-demand travel brand Nation of Nmds wins first prize at the Future of Retail Awards in Sweden

The growing Swedish-American travel company receives recognition for its increasingly successful international expansion and emphasis on multichannel sales

Nation of Nmds made Scandinavia and retailers a major focus point for their sales efforts in 2022, and had a record-breaking year as a result. From tripling the size of their collaboration with renowned retail giant Rizzo, to partnering with some of the premier tastemakers in the independent store space, the brand saw their multichannel efforts and aggressive expansion plans pay off.

Future of Retail, a company that is on a mission to create a new retail ecosystem where everyone benefits from working together in a more efficient way, has now declared Nation of Nmds a winner of their “Future of Retail Awards” for the 2022 calendar year. The awards, which aims to highlight brands with successful expansion efforts and extraordinary performances, has five different categories.  Nation of Nmds won the “Multichannel Success of the Year” award. 

“The team behind Nation of Nmds won in this category because they successfully and fearlessly established a physical retail network in a new (to them) market during global financial uncertainty, proving that there are still ample expansion opportunities for bold and brave brands just like them,” says Björn Colérus, Chief Growth Officer at Future of Retail.  

Nation of Nmds first launched as a direct-to-consumer brand in 2018, exclusively selling their products on www.nationofnmds.com, but have since then taken a very fruitful omnichannel approach to sales. 

“As a Swedish-American company, and after seeing success with retail partners in cities like Tokyo, Paris, and Los Angeles, we knew that it was time for us to focus on retail in Sweden. Partnering with Future of Retail was a no brainer at that point, as we knew that it would open new doors and give us a real boost in sales,” says Ronnie Bergh, Head of Sales at Nation of Nmds.   

The focus on multichannel sales marks a new chapter for the company, and the success of it proves that young, modern brands see value in physical retail spaces and related shopping experiences. As a result, the recent retail expansion only marks the beginning of a new and exciting approach for Nation of Nmds.
